Notes:  This is one of the newly certified Double Die Obverse and Reverse and a good coin to study.  Both STONE MOUNTAIN and 1925 are clearly doubled.  So far it seems like most die cracks are seen on the reverse dies, but this coin clearly shows three different obverse die cracks.

The reverse of this coin has toning in just the right places to make photography difficult.  But there is both doubling that might be strike doubling and what we believe is actually die doubling on the F DO.  There appear to be only superficial die cracks.

When coins tone to black it is approaching a terminal state, much like when your silver service tarnishes.  This whole coin is obviously not to that state, but where it is toned it is close.
