Notes:  The toning on this coin is actually very early in the process.  Russets and browns are very early and probably indicate exposure to moisture during storage.  While a coin toned in the manner might seem unattractive, the toning can bring out detail.

 

Lee's coat retains its detail and the glove appears to be whole.  There is also nice detail in Traveler's tail.  Where the bridle crosses the holster it is complete.   Jackson's face is more complete than we often see and the detail around his glove and hat is nice.

 

The toning helps accentuate the detail of the Eagle's feathers.  The doubling can best be seen at the bottom of the memorial phrase.  There is a die crack running across the outer left wing.
